Do you live in, or are you interested in The City, Highfield? If you’re interested in The City Development, a relatively new estate, built on the old Highfield Road Stadium, then please watch this video. The City Development was created by George Wimpey Homes. It’s built across the home of the Sky Blues’ stadium on Highfield Road and The Mercers Car Park. The stadium was originally built in 1899 and at one point, boasted the largest playing surface in the English League. The stadium had historical significance as in 1981, under advice from Jimmy Hill, Highfield Road became England’s first all-seater stadium, though it was only for a limited time, due to some over-excited away fans, after Coventry won, 4-0. The last game was played on 30th April 2005 when the Sky Blues won 6-2 and demolition work began in February 2006. The site consists of around 340 houses and apartments. Due to its proximity to both Coventry University and Eastern Bypass, the location appeals to both professional buyers and buy-to-let investors. If you’re interested in Buying or Renting a property here in The City, please call text or WhatsApp me on 07864 942 768 to be kept updated with available properties.
